Play date Pals

Three lovely ladies playing at an indoor play place.

Goofy.

Sweet.

The best part? The moms could actually sit back and enjoy a hot drink and visit while they played. Lovely.

Black and white again...

Watch out scrapbooking world.

I've changed my home base, neutral colours to black and white from brown and beige I think

(although this one is off-white, and I do still love kraft. I think it will forever be my ultimate neutral).

And here's another layout with a photo of Brad and I.

No girls featured on this layout.

Whoa!

Gracie did take the picture of us...

Kinette Princess Ball

We went to a Princess Ball raising money for Cystic Fibrosis a few weekends ago, and it was lovely.

The girls were excited to go inside.

GG and Granddad came with us, which was pretty exciting in itself.

We got inside and the girls immediately got their faces painted.

Emma even sat still for the process. The funny thing was, if you saw her from a bit more of a distance, those blue swipes above  her eyebrows look a little like devil horns...

We met so many princesses, princes, and even a Fairy Godmother!

I don't think there was a single Princess missing.

Our friends joined us, which put the day over the top!

We did not win any door prizes, which had Gracie pretty bummed. She thought for sure that dollhouse would be hers.

We tried to get family pictures. This is the best we got... and I photoshopped them to achieve this level of success. Yowza!

But.... we made memories.

Everyone danced.

And twirled.

And wore beautiful dresses.

There were crafts, candy, special food, games, and clowns,  (which produced the worst nightmare Emma has ever experienced, in my opinion).

Pretty exciting!

Treasured Memories Layouts

I have a few layouts to share from this month's design team kit.

I got Shine Bright, from Kaisercraft this month. It's grey, black, white and yellow. That's the whole colour pallet. I thought it might be hard to use, but I played around with it and I love it!

It's pretty versatile. As you can see, you can use it for backcountry skiing pages, or other snowy sports/playtime pictures, or cute kids pictures, and you don't really have to worry about the colours in your photos matching, because the colour scheme is so simple.

Love it!

When I handed this in, Daryl asked about the paint splatter, so I thought I'd tell you how to recreate the look.

First, I used Glimmer Mist in Sunflower on Prima cardstock.

I opened up the mist and dropped a few dots in a shaky row with the tube inside the lid (imagine doing this with a 5 year old at your elbow). Then, I drug the tube through to connect the dots in a bit of a line.

Next, I held it up so the ink would drip and helped it by blowing it downward with a heat gun.

Then, I splattered some spray on the cardstock and added a few splats of black acrylic paint.

There's a fine line between art and mess.

Love you a million times + one

I've been really embracing the black and white trend lately. I seem to use it on a lot of layouts, with a pop of colour, like this hit of red.

This is so far from my norm. Red is way out there for me, but with a black and white photo, I think I can use it. We're too pink in our house to have much red on our pages ;)

Cousins Snow Time

Brin, Kale, Auntie Steph and Uncle Broc came up a few weekends ago to visit and we got lots of time to play in the snow, skate, swim, hit the dog park and have fun!

Brin made beautiful snow angels.

Emma looks pumped to walk the dogs ;) Haha!

and Gracie and Kale walked together and chatted, when they weren't running after the dogs, or trying to get the stroller back from the younger girls.

Everyone got lots of fresh air and activity.
