My Beautiful Butterfly

We visited our local library the other day for their birthday party and Gracie got her face painted. The artist did a fantastic job!
Gracie asked for a rainbow butterfly and he turned her into a rainbow butterfly!

Sitting for the painter.

So happy with the results, she wanted me to take a picture right after on my phone so she could look at herself some more :)

Check it out, there's even glitter on her butterfly!

When we got home, she had to model with her favourite butterfly Barbie. "Now I'm a butterfly just like her!" she yelled excitedly before the two of them took off on their inaugural flying trip around the house.

Luckily, the glitter got itchy right around bedtime, so I was allowed to wash it off, otherwise, I'd still have a butterfly in the house today.

December Daily 3

Last one, folks!

Emma's birthday is now a part of our Christmas holidays!

A few pockets full of photos.

I also included some funny or memorable facebook posts from the year. I guess I'm a little chatty though, because after picking my favourites, I had four pages worth (four smaller pages, but still four pages)....

I made a little accordion fold spine at the top of my page so I could hold all of them without including a thousand tags or stuffing them in a big envelope. Now you can flip through them with ease. This may be my favourite part of the book.

And here's my teeny-tiny resolutions tag ;) Guess I'm either perfect, or I just know not to try and make too big of changes.

Congrats! You survived. Hope you enjoyed this little taste of Christmas in March!

December Daily 2

More pages to peruse:

I love these clear, vellum envelopes (above). You can get them in a few different sizes at Treasured Memories.

I used a little cellophane treat bag to hold one of the tags on this page above. See the gold dots?

Another fold out card holds tags with Christmas pictures. I can never take just a few pictures on Christmas day.

A little accordion fold out holds extra pictures.

Only one more post to go!

December Daily Album

Let the sharing begin! I finally wrapped up this project, so I thought I'd bombard you with pictures of Christmas, to get you in the spirit for Easter :)

I made another mini album with pages of all sizes, lots of pockets, fold-out pages, tags, and tabs to capture all of our festive fun. It's a little hard to wrap your head around in pictures, but it's always fun to make.

The inside cover has a pocket to hold our Christmas card, so that's in there with our memories, too.

The red card in the photo above opens up to include the girl's Christmas lists and their blessings lists (seen below).

Yes, I made up Emma's lists for her, but I think I was quite accurate.

Baking, decorating, crafts Christmas cards, lights, advent calendars, elves, and fun made up the early days of December. Almost makes me want to celebrate all over. Almost.

Backyard Fairies Mini Album

I finished a little mini album that I started with Leica Forrest at Scrap Addicts, a new store in Edmonton. A fun time, a great project and some more pictures off my computer and into albums!

I love it. The colours and papers are so great. The supplies are largely from the Maggie Holmes DIY Shoppe collection for Crate Paper. I used some of my favourite photos and I love the finished product.

I decorated the inside cover, so I'd have a spot to add some journaling about our fairy garden project.

I took this photo so you could see how it looks in the album, and the rest of the pages I photographed out of the page protectors so you can see them more clearly.

Another little mini album for the bookshelf. These kids will have every second of their lives documented by the time I'm done with them :)

Update

Some pictures of my favourite walking buddies. They're so cool. Have I mentioned Emma is a fairweather girl? She's not even happy to be out on this day, which was actually quite lovely.

But, she loved celebrating Brad's birthday! Mmmmm, cake.

We've been fighting a cold with a horrific cough. Ugh. Gracie was recuperating on this sick day and had her own special sick bed in the playroom.

And this is what happens to blackberries in the house now. She used to gobble them up so fast, she was actually quite clean about it. Now, she's discovered the squish. It must be quite lovely, because she would much rather play with them now than eat them.

And that's us lately - bundled up against the cold, a little sick and messy, but happy. Hope you're happy, too.
